If you’ve ever looked at your smile in the mirror and wished it was brighter, you may have found yourself picking up a whitening kit from the drugstore or your dentist’s office. In fact, according to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Americans spent more than $1.4 billion on over-the-counter teeth whitening products in 2016. The only problem is, most leading whitening products are made with harsh chemicals that you don’t want to be putting in your mouth. Just check to see if the box has a “do not swallow” warning and it’ll tell you everything you need to know. For a natural approach, companies like Lumineux are paving the way by offering safer solutions that avoid bleaches and other ingredients and swap them in for nontoxic alternatives like coconut oil, essential oils, and more.

The History of Lumineux

Dr. Kourosh Maddahi founded Lumineux after 30 years of practicing dentistry in Los Angeles. After several decades in the industry, he was disappointed with the product options at his disposal and wanted to recommend safe and effective toothpastes to his patients. That’s why he decided to take a stand and create a line of oral care essentials he’d be proud to offer in his practice.

Lumineux Company Mission

The motto of Lumineux is: “You shouldn’t have to choose between a product that is good for you, and a product that actually works.” That’s why this brand formulates mouthwashes, toothpastes, and other products with plant-and mineral-based formulas that can easily stand up to conventional options.

Benefits of Lumineux

Peace of mind is a key benefit of opting for Lumineux as your go-to oral care brand. Without harsh chemicals in the mix, you can rest assured your pearly whites are being taken care of, without exposing your body to nasty ingredients in the process. Lumineux has put its own products to the test against conventional counterparts and published the results in journals like Dentistry. In a study comparing the Lumineux whitening strips to a leading brand that’s known for using ingredients like hydrogen peroxide, it was found that the Lumineux whitening strip showed “a comparable lightening effect to a popular OTC whitening strip,” but without the risk of causing teeth sensitivity in the process.
